Crafting Tuesdays, 2 to 4 pm

Crafting Tuesdays (formerly Crafting Fridays) take place in the Orchard Room from 2 to 4pm every Tuesday. Bring your needlework, coloring, writing, scrapbooking, or any other craft you may have. We love to gather, share our creativity, and have great conversations while we’re at it.

Choir Rehearsals Thursdays, 7 pm

Blessing of the Animals, August 23

Join us in the Curran Apple Orchard on Sunday, August 23, at 10am (during regular worship time) for our annual Blessing of the Animals service. Rev. Cathi Cline will lead us in a short liturgy of blessing, thanksgiving, and music for the animals who share or have shared our homes and lives. Pets of all types are welcome: furry, feathered, scaly, or stuffed. Please leash or crate the ones who may attempt an escape! Or bring a photo or memento of pets who don’t travel well or who have passed.

Mission Focus for August: L’Arche

Throughout August we are supporting L’Arche Tahoma Hope, located in Pierce County, and the wider L’Arche international organization. L’Arche Tahoma Hope gratefully accepts donations in a number of ways, including online at their website or concrete items through their Amazon Wish Lists. They particularly appreciate grocery or gas gift cards to help bridge the inflation gap. They also welcome customers at the Farm and once a month at the Proctor Farmer’s Market.

In a world where loneliness is an epidemic, L’Arche communities offer friendship, belonging, and the opportunity to build relationshipsacross differences. The mission brings together people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, play, work, and worship in community together.
The result is an atmosphere of love, inclusion, and frequent celebrations! While
governments support some costs of L’Arche homes and programs, there are many gaps
that are only getting wider when you consider inflation, the cost of 24/7 trained staff,
uncovered health care expenses, and the impending cuts to Medicaid.
